After Care

BANDAGES:
Second Skin / Sandiderm
- This is what I primarily use. It’s like a clear, thin sticker. It’s a medical grade, breathable, waterproof way to protect your fresh tattoo that uses your bodies natural fluids to heal. It can also help avoid some scabbing and dryness depending on the situation.
- After getting tattooed leave it on for 2-5 days. Take off in a warm (not hot/cold) shower, then wash with unscented soap and pat/air dry. Let it dry out for ~24hrs before moisturizing.
- Moisturize lightly 1-2 times a day (typically after a shower).
* If your skin gets red/swells/hot around the sticker while it’s on, take it off and wash tattoo. SOME people are allergic or can get skin irritations to this type of bandage.
* Leave ink sacks alone (unless it’s like, insanely huge/leaking). Tattoos secreting plasma/excess ink is normal, look up a video on Tiktok or something, having a squishy lil bulge is okay.

Plastic Cling Wrap
- The stuff you use to wrap up sandwiches. If you’re one of the few whose skin is irritated by 2nd Skin, we’ll use this to wrap you up.
- Leave on until next morning, wash with unscented soap after removing (wash those hands before!) then wait ~24hrs before moisturizing.
*Some artists use meat packing bandages, which also work like plastic wrap, but I don’t use them.

SOAPS & MOISTURIZERS:
- I personally use unscented Dove bar soap, it’s cheap and can be found almost anywhere.
- Lubriderm unscented lotion is the same deal, but I’ve also heard good things about Aveeno.
- Cicaplast is something new that I’ve been using. It was suggested to me by some permanent brow technicians and it’s worked really well on my own tattoos.
- I’ve also been told that Aquaphor and Tiger Spit are good products, though I’ve never used them.

ONCE BANDAGE IS OFF:
- Avoid sun/sunscreen for ~2months
- No swimming until it’s healed! No pools/hottubs/beaches/etc.
- Continue washing (with that unscented soap) at the start/end of each day, but don’t soak it (showers are cool but keep it out of the tub).
- Don’t pick/scratch at any scabs/flakes/dryness. Do a lil tatty slap, lightly moisturize and leave it alone!
- Heat/humidity can sometimes make it a little red/warm/raise up a little bit (even after you’ve had a tattoo for a while).
- Getting tattooed in sensitive parts of the body can sometimes cause a lil bruising. It’s not necessarily “infected” so be chill.
- It’s an open wound, treat it as such! Be patient and clean!

CONTACT ME IF:
- Swelling/redness grows after several days.
- You feel feverish (feeling tired the day of/after your appointment is normal).
- There’s puss-discharge/oozing/bleeding (plasma/excess ink while bandage is on is normal).
- Red streaks (veins) or rash on/around tattoo.
* If it’s an emergency, contact a doctor first! Remember all I can do is give advice, I can’t physically help you in the moment!

*DISCLAIMER*
You void any possible free touchups if any of the above stipulations/recommendations aren’t followed.
I want it to look good on you to, let’s be a team on this, don’t take advantage!
